Weeping Standard Trees
Weeping standard trees are varieties of trees that are
grafted on to a Tall Standard rootstock (usually around 1.8m 6 foot), thus
elevating the plant to allow it to cascade down or weep in an almost Umbrella
like fashion. Limestone Coast Advanced Trees grows one of the largest ranges of
this type of tree, predominantly on 1.8- 2m high trunks but we also offer,
lower graft heights for growing in pots on retaining walls and where the
general look of a variety would look better on a lower graft e.g. Camellias and
Cercis ‘Lavender Twist’. Some trees will simply weep from the graft point down
whilst other can arch up off the graft slightly before weeping down and they are
referred to as semi- upright weepers.
